Just the Recipe – German Style Slaw – Family Recipe

This a recipe from my Grandmother, made for church and country wedding potlucks here in the Midwest. This is a no mayo salad.

Servings: 12 Calories: 215 Equipment: Large mixing bowl, rubber spatula, fork, paring knife and medium saucepan.

-1 C white Vinegar

– 1 C white Sugar

– 3/4 C vegetable Oil

-1 T table salt

-1 t dry Mustard

-1 T Celery seed

Bring the above ingredients to a boil and stir til sugar dissolved. Allow to cool. Once cooled, add to a bowl of the below ingredients.

-Large head of green Cabbage, shredded

-1 large yellow Onion, minced.

-1 large green Pepper, diced.

Mix and chill. Then serve. Can be refrigerated for three days.
