Recipe – Family – Savory Mozzarella Loaf

Equipment:  Sheet pan, small bowl, knife and fork. Foil or skewer.  

Serves:  12.  Calories per slice: Approximately 240

12” long loaf of French bread.   Cut into 1” thick slices.

1LB mozzarella cheese sliced into ¼” thick pieces. Fresh or packaged.

COMBINE the following:

1/3C soft butter

1/4C grated parmesan cheese

½ t oregano

½ t garlic salt

Spread this mix onto both sides of each slice of the French bread.  Reshape bread on a baking sheet, alternating the bread and cheese slices.  Press the loaf together.  Secure with a skewer or support in foil.  Brush any remaining butter parmesan mixture on the top of the loaf.

Bake for 8 minutes in a 400 Degree oven.  Serve warm.
