A quick boiled chocolate frosting for your favorite cake. Midcentury family recipe from my Grandmother. Frosts one 9×12 sheet cake. Fast and easy.
Servings: 15 Calories: 100 Equipment: sauce pan, rubber spatula, measuring cup and whisk.
-1 C granulated Sugar
-1/4 C Butter
-1/3 C milk (2% or whole)
-2 T Cocoa Powder
-1 square Baking Chocolate (1 square=1 ounce)
-1 t vanilla
-1/2 C marshmallows (mini)

In a saucepan on medium heat, melt the sugar and chocolate square in the milk and butter. Whisk briskly. Add the cocoa powder, mix and bring pan to a full boil on high. Once boiled briskly for one minute and the mixture is smooth, remove pan from the heat, add vanilla and marshmallow, stirring to ensure marshmallows melt. Allow frosting to cool before pouring over cake.
